The after-market CO2 Gas Kit will quite simply transform your XC to ULTRA Trap specifications making it CO2 capable.
The upgrade kit is simple to install. All you’ll need is a Phillips screwdriver and some Loctite medium strength thread locker. Our DIY Video will take you through it step by step. However you might also find it helpful to refer to the worksheet which can be downloaded from our online workshop.
While Mega-Catch™ Traps need no Carbon Dioxide (CO2) to attract mosquitoes, operation of the patented ‘Variable Quantity Slow CO2 Gas Release System’ will boost capture rates. It enables the Traps to replicate a key feature of human/animal respiration by releasing or 'exhaling' variable amounts of CO2 into the air plume emanating from the base of the trap.
Use of this system is entirely optional but if you are battling a challenging mosquito problem we strongly recommend that you instal the CO2 Upgrade Kit and operate your trap with CO2 as this can increase the coverage area (up from 1 acre to 1.5 acres) and capture rates by as much as 300-400%
